EMBRIC Survey - Potential of the Blue Bioeconomy (industry)

The European Marine Biological Research Infrastructure Cluster (EMBRIC) is designed to accelerate the pace of scientific discovery and innovation from marine bioresources. EMBRIC aims to promote new innovations derived from marine organisms in fields such as drug discovery, novel foods and food ingredients, aquaculture selective breeding, bioremediation, cosmetics and bioenergy.

With this survey we would like to get your opinion as investor or company representative in the Blue/Marine Bioeconomy. We would like to learn on which resources you focus, whether you are satisfied with the current market situation and where you see challenges and - if so - how these should be tackled.

What will happen to the results?

The results of this survey will allow EMBRIC to get a glimpse of how consumers, investors and policy makers perceive the blue bioeconomy. The questions we raise are: What do different actors know about the blue economy? Where do they see opportunities, where do they see challenges? And, do novel products from the blue economy enjoy market acceptance?

The insights collected will feed into a roadmap that will be developed as a legacy of EMBRIC. It will be a contribution to the discussion at EU level on the future development of the blue bioeconomy and reinforce the communication between the marine Research Infrastructures, biotech companies and policy makers.

All results will be presented in such a way that it will be impossible to identify individual respondents and no personal data will be saved.
