Public consultation on the FSC National High Conservation Value Framework for the UK

As part of our FSC National Forest Stewardship Standard, we maintain a National High Conservation Value (HCV) Framework. This is a tool for the identification, management and monitoring of HCVs in forests in the UK. The six categories of HCVs are:

·       HCV 1 Species diversity

·       HCV 2 Landscape-level ecosystems and mosaics

·       HCV 3 Ecosystems and habitats

·       HCV 4 Critical ecosystem services

·       HCV 5 Community needs

·       HCV 6 Cultural values

In this consultation, we are seeking your views on how the Framework can be updated or refined.

A publicly available consultation report will be produced compiling the feedback received and indicating how the feedback has been acted on in refining the Framework.
