Mentoring is an effective and enjoyable learning and development tool.

The role of the mentor is to help the mentee obtain better insight into their own situation and the options available to them. It is more important to listen and provide a sounding board, allowing them to work things out for themselves while talking it through, rather than to make decisions for the mentee.

* 14. This year we are working with CfLP and the Cumbria Future Leaders to support a mentoring programme for young people aged between 18 - 25yrs. The mentees will be recruited from the Cumbria Future Leaders network, which is made up of a range of young people at different stages of their education and career.
