The Allocate People Summit 2020 - Call for papers

The Allocate People Summit is back for 2020 and will include the user group and an international workforce forum.

Five brand new themes shape the agenda and will explore how technology and digital solutions can be harnessed to engage, plan, deploy and develop the healthcare workforce of the future and tackle the growing levels of transformation demanded by the workforce.

As always, our customers are at the heart of the conference and we are asking for submissions based around the themes to help ensure we have a strong customer voice. If you would like to send us pictures, reference or supporting material, or have any questions about the call for papers, the event, or your submission, please email EventTeam@allocateug.org.

The deadline for entries is Friday 3rd April 2020 at 5pm and successful submissions will be notified by the end of April.

Question Title

* 1. In response to feedback from last years conference we are grouping presentations into the conference themes to help give delegates the opportunity to focus on areas relevant to them.

People Engagement - Our technology impacts people’s experience of work. That is why it is vital that engagement and implementation design is done thoughtfully. At the same time how, our people want to work is changing; some want more flexibility, many want more security and investment in skills, and most want to feel a level of control and autonomy around work. Sessions with this theme centre on the workforce and its experience of Allocate solutions, as well as techniques used to meet evolving demands and the wider environmental context in which people are delivering care.

People Planning - Planning is a crucial part of managing any workforce and a lack of planning can cause major problems further down the line. Sessions with this theme include examples of ways in which organisations are handling the demand for their staff in a sophisticated way by looking at the type of staff required based on ratios and the care environment and examples of smart rostering.

People Deployment - Organisations need to be confident they have the right people, with the right skills available at the right time to deliver care with the right level of quality and staff experience. Sessions in this theme will explore actions Allocate customers are taking to plan their workforce and deliver quality care.

People Development - Learning and development matters to your people. Organisations that invest in learning and development have better staff retention and attract more staff. This is vital at a time where there is a global workforce shortage and over 100,000 vacancies in the NHS alone. Sessions with themes will be around measures by which Allocate technology can be used to help organisations invest in their people, support them to develop fulfilling careers and safeguard care.

People Insight - Understanding more about how and why your staff want to work will affect their experience of work. Sessions with this theme will focus on how intelligent workforce data can be used to manage and deploy your people more efficiently.

Terms and conditions:
- The user committee will review all papers and select successful submissions. Submitting a paper does not guarantee a place at the conference or on the agenda;
- By submitting a session you agree to present this session at anytime on the agenda and to fill a 35-40 minute slot. You'll also need to send us your material by Monday 1st October.
- Due to the cost of putting on the conference, there is only one free ticket available for each agenda session. Unfortunately, therefore if there are multiple speakers then only one will be offered a free place and remaining places will require ticket purchase.
- If you are given a free ticket as thanks for presenting and can no longer attend, Allocate will offer the free place to another presenter.
- If you decide you are unable to present, your free ticket will no longer be valid and if you still attend will be charged for the event;
- Transfer of names: your free ticket can be transferred to another speaker if they are speaking in your place.
- If you are not successful, you may be asked to submit a poster to the event, details will be sent separately.
