Howe of Alford Community Action Plan Survey

Centred on the village of Alford, in the heart of Donside, the Howe of Alford is well known for the River Don, productive farmland, glorious countryside and wide open views to the surrounding hills. The Howe of Alford has always prided itself on its strong sense of community.
The Howe of Alford covers the villages and communities around and including Alford; Whitehouse, Tough, Keig, Montgarrie, Tullynessle, Muir of Fowlis, Craigievar, Cushnie and Bridge of Alford

Whether you live in The Howe of Alford, work here or frequently use its facilities, you will have talked about what you value about the area, what could be improved and what should be done to put things right; but you don’t often get the chance to make the changes you think are necessary.
Our last Community Plan was published in 2010 when our main aim was to have a new Alford Community Campus.
Since then much has changed in the Howe and that’s why your Community Council committed itself to getting your views heard by carrying out a survey and then developing a new Community Action Plan
What Is a Community Action Plan?
The purpose of creating a Community Action Plan is to
bring together the hopes, goals and concerns of the community and make people think positively about what should be done to benefit the community.
Then, most importantly, find ways of making things happen.
It provides an opportunity for local people to get involved not only by voicing their opinion but also by coming forward and helping make a difference, whether they do it by themselves or with the support of other agencies.
The important thing to remember is that it is the community’s plan – it’s your Plan, it’s what you value about the Howe of Alford that is important.
It’s your view that counts!
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. Please skip any questions that you don’t want to answer.
