The ARA has launched its 2020 sector skills survey, which is open to all ARA members and non-members across the UK and Ireland. So, whether you are a professional, student or volunteer, we want to hear from you!

Sector skills surveys are essential to understand the professional development needs of the record-keeping profession. They provide an effective evidence base that informs current and emerging training and professional development trends. They also inform discussions on how the record-keeping sector is evolving and how ARA can deliver professional development opportunities for everyone in the sector.

If you’re looking to improve your employability by updating your skills and levels of competence, then we’d love to hear from you. The survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete. As a reward we will give away 12 months’ free* ARA membership to one randomly selected individual who completes the survey. Please visit our website for more details on ARA membership benefits.

The survey comprises of six sections:

·         You and your employment

·         Archives and records skills

·         Preservation and conservation skills

·         Digital and technical skills

·         Access and engagement skills

·         Business and personal development skills

Please complete each part of the survey to be eligible for our free membership offer.

The survey will close on Friday 30th October 2020. All responses will be anonymous and used by the ARA to better understand the changing needs of the profession, and to inform our events and training programme at a local and national level. All data will be held in accordance with the ARA’s privacy policy.

*This offer applies to the 2021-2022 membership year.
