AIM Teaching Awards 2022 |
WELCOME! We are so glad you are interested in sharing your good practices with the worldwide community of music educators. In this video, teaching artist Richard Mannoia introduces the awards. Before you submit your video/s, please read the AIM Teaching Awards 2022 Brief and these criteria and instructions carefully:
Filming: Your video should be unedited and show one continuous take of live teaching and learning. Please do not piece together retakes. Videos may be up to, but should not exceed 30 minutes. Your video may start at the beginning, middle, or end of a lesson or rehearsal - just make sure it focuses on the Aspect you have chosen (Individual Relationships and Care, or Empowered Decisions, or Musical Purpose and Context). Videos will be evaluated on their connection to and illustration of AIM's pedagogical framework and values.
a) Videos should be of group learning contexts: no videos of individual instruction will be considered.
b) Compelling embodiment and illustration of your selected area (Individual Relationships and Care, or Empowered Decisions, or Musical Purpose and Context). At least one of the listed key indicators should be clearly evidenced in your video. (Focus and clarity are best!).
c) Observable engagement and impact on student learning and development
d) Video with clear picture and sound
e) While you may submit a description and context about your lesson or learners, the teaching and learning in your video should be self-explanatory and understandable to viewers who are not familiar with your program.
Transcript: Videos in any language may be submitted and ALL videos must have a transcript of the language spoken as well as a translation into English. Please submit the transcript in a Word file or PDF. All videos in English must have a transcript in English.
Size: For a video to be included in the AIM Digital Library, it must be no more than 30 minutes.
Format: Please either:
a) upload your video to VIMEO, ensuring you choose a setting that enables anyone to download, so that we can download and save your file OR
b) send by Wetransfer to connect@aimpowers.org
Subtitling: Please do not add any spoken or written commentary in your video. We ask that you do not add subtitles or captions to your video. AIM will create captions for winning submissions based on the required transcripts and translations.
Appearance Releases: All adults in each video must sign this media release form and parents/guardians of all children under 18 must sign this child media release form. As well as providing the media release form, we encourage you to explain the purpose of the film, which is to celebrate good practices and inspiring teachers and to help other teachers to develop their skills. Only videos selected for an award will be shared publicly.
