Complete our survey to help us lobby government and industry about future support for the sector

A ballot was held earlier this year, asking levy payers if they wanted AHDB Potatoes to continue or not. The answer was a resounding ‘no’. Since this result was announced the industry has raised some concerns about the loss of some of the key functions that AHDB carried out.   AHDB Potatoes is in the process of winding down now, with Ministers making decisions about this in the next few months.
This survey is being conducted by NFU Scotland and SSCR to identify which of these functions are most valued by the industry.   It is focused on the 7 key functions of AHDB Potatoes. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete, depending on your answers.
The results of this survey will not be used to resurrect a different version of the AHDB. Instead, the findings of this survey will inform discussions with government and industry about what happens after AHDB Potatoes has wound down. This is to ensure that valued functions will continue to be carried out. It will also help start the process of identifying who should carry them out and how they should be funded.
This survey will be open for three weeks, and will close at noon on Friday 25 June 2021.  If you have any queries about this survey, please contact David Michie (
