Submit a session for the ASE South East Asia Conference 2020

Targetting Excellence in Science Learning - ASE and Bangkok Patana School  (BPS) Conference 2020
21st - 23rd February 2020


All speakers will need to register as a delegate and pay the appropriate registration fee.

The Conference programme will include CPD sessions ranging across all Key Phases based on the 7 recommendations from the EEF Improving Secondary Science Guidance report here. Proposals are welcome from both ASE members and non-members and from experienced presenters or those new to sharing their practice.

Sessions may:
- Share ideas and practical activities from your classroom
- Showcase a new resource
- Provide updates on subject knowledge
- Present research approaches and findings
- Examine assessment
- Launch an initiative or new programme

Everyone is welcome to submit a session idea. If you have an interest in science education and have something to share, then we’d love to hear from you.

The ASE promotes best practice for professional development. All sessions should, where appropriate:
- be linked to the current science curriculum
- be clear about its expected impact on teachers and pupils
- introduce evidence-informed practices that have the potential to support pupils
- be explicit about how and why practices are intended to work and how to implement them
- provide opportunities for participants to reflect and think about their next steps

If you would like to submit more than one session proposal, simply fill in this survey form for each session. There will be an opportunity to update your session details using Sched, the online timetabling platform. Your session proposal will be reviewed by the ASE and BPS. You should be aware that not all proposals will be accepted.

Expenses & Delegate Fees
All speakers need to register as a delegate and pay the appropriate registration fee. If you book exhibition space at the conference, then you will receive a certain number of delegate passes with that package. We are unable to cover travel or other expenses for any speaker. Delegate fees can be found on the relevant page of the ASE website and Eventbrite.

Type of room
Please ensure that you state the type of room you require for your session. There is a choice in the form of science lab, seminar room, PC suite or lecture theatre. 

Audio-visual (AV) Equipment, Computers and Science Apparatus

You are asked to detail required audio-visual equipment when submitting your proposal. All session rooms (with the exception of the Outdoor Classroom) are fitted with data projectors, PCs, speakers and internet.  You can either use the fixed PC with a USB stick for your presentation, or you can connect your laptop to the projector.

If you require any additional AV/IT equipment, or need specific software loaded, or need lab equipment, please email or by 22nd November 2019.

We cannot guarantee to meet late requests made for laboratory apparatus. We will let you know if there are any costs associated with your request. We can supply glassware, etc, to all venues.
