Collections Trust Award 2018 |
What difference has Spectrum 5.0 made to your museum?
The Collections Trust Award recognises the often-unsung achievements of those who manage the collections that lie at the heart of all museums. That well-deserved recognition comes with a cash award of £1,000 for the winning museum.
The theme of the 2018 award is the same as our conference: Spectrum in action. We want to hear what difference Spectrum 5.0 has made to collection management in your museum. What have you done differently since the latest version of the standard came out last year? And what impact has this had?
The winning museum will receive £1,000 to spend on an agreed collection management activity. A representative from the museum will also receive a free place at our 2018 conference in Bristol on 13 September to receive the award in person, so save the date. (If you win and you have already bought a conference ticket, we will refund the cost so you come as our guest.)
Entering is simple. Use this online form to describe a collections management activity or project that was either completed in the last twelve months or is happening now with demonstrable progress you can point to. (Top tip: draft your longer answers offline and paste them into the form.) Anyone involved – whether on the governing body, staff or volunteer – can enter on behalf of your museum.
We need at least one photo that illustrates your submission, and your permission to reproduce it along with the text submitted.
Terms and conditions
Entry is open to all Accredited UK museums and galleries. Entries must be submitted via this form no later than close of play on Tuesday 31 July 2018. Submissions will be judged by a panel from Collections Trust's board, and the judges' decision is final. The winner will be notified by email by Friday 10 August 2018.
By entering you agree that Collections Trust may publish your submission, either in full or in edited form, noncommercially and with due acknowledgement, as a case study. Entries must be accompanied by an image that Collections Trust may use non-commercially and with due acknowledgement.
The prize money must be used for a collections management activity agreed in advance with Collections Trust. Collections Trust reserves the right not to make an award.
By entering, you consent to Collections Trust processing your contact details for the specific purpose of the 2018 award. See our privacy notice for full details.
