Question Title

As part of the CMA's market investigation into the funerals sector, we are seeking to understand the nature and extent of any arrangements between funeral directors and local organisations (such as care homes, hospices and hospitals) which may mean that funeral directors are providing services (for example, the initial removal of the deceased to a funeral director's mortuary) without the knowledge or consent of the deceased's next-of-kin (i.e. on the organisation's instructions only). Such arrangements may be formal (contracted) or informal.
