The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Learning Disability and Autism Training Trials |
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Learning Disability and Autism will ensure staff working in health and social care receive learning disability and autism training, at the right level for their role. They will have a better understanding of people’s needs, resulting in better services and improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
Tier 2 is a full day course aimed at people with a responsibility for providing care and support for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism. E.g. Support workers, socials workers, personal assistant, service managers, etc.
Tier 1 is a half day course aimed at people who require a more general understanding of learning disability and the support individuals with a learning disability need. E.g. Auxiliary staff, porters, cleaners, telephone staff, administration, receptionists, etc.
