Social Media Use

9% of survey complete.

As part of the CMA’s investigation, we’re asking people to answer 11 short questions about their experiences of looking at posts on social media.

We would be very grateful for 5-10 minutes of your time to hear your views.

There are no right or wrong answers – we really want to know what you think!

The answers you give us will be kept in strict confidence and used by the CMA only for research purposes. We won’t ask you to give us any information that tells us who you are – the CMA will not know who has answered our questions.

The CMA is a data controller and has asked Survey Monkey to collect your answers on our behalf. The purpose of this is to let the CMA conduct research with consumers on their experiences of looking at social media posts that may promote or endorse goods or services. The CMA’s legal basis for gathering this information is Section 5 of the Enterprise Act 2002 and the exercise of our functions under Part 8 of the Enterprise Act 2002. The CMA will keep your answers for as long as it has a business need for them and then securely delete them.
