BSE National Occupational Standards - Plumbing & Heating Consultation
What are we asking you to do?
SNIPEF, as part of Building Services Engineering Skills Ltd, has been contracted to carry out a periodic review of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Plumbing and Heating across the UK. This includes the following NOS:
SUMBSE01
Apply health and safety and environmental legislation in the building services engineering sector
SUMBSE02
Establish and maintain relationships in the building services engineering sector
SUMBSE03
Coordinate a work site in the building services engineering sector
SUMBSE04
Perform electrical work on mechanical building services systems
SUMPH04
Install and test domestic plumbing and heating systems
SUMPH05
Service and maintain domestic plumbing and heating systems
SUMPH06
Inspect and pre-commission domestic plumbing and heating systems
SUMPH07
Commission domestic plumbing and heating systems
SUMPH08
Decommission domestic plumbing and heating systems
SUMPH09
Install sheet weathering protection
SNIPEF will work with UK partners to engage with employers, share the consultation documentation, and receive and collate all feedback. This work will conclude with a revised set of NOS.
We are asking you to do two things: 1. Read through the NOS specifications. These would have been sent to you with the survey link or can be accessed HERE.
2. Provide feedback on the NOS through this online survey. First, tell us a little bit about yourself and your organisation, then tell us whether the current NOS are fit for purpose (FFP) or could be improved. If you think they could be improved, let us know what that improvement should be. There will also be space for you to provide any further comments (or questions) you wish.
3. Your completed consultation will be sent to SNIPEF to collate the results.
