Dear respondent,

Thank you for taking the time to answer this questionnaire, which is part of a written call for evidence in this joint All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) inquiry into how UK immigration policies contribute to poverty amongst those in migrant communities. We estimate it will take you 15 minutes to complete this questionnaire. For more information on the inquiry, including our aims and objectives, please view this page on the APPG on Migration website.

When answering the questions, please on draw evidence and detail from your professional experience. Additionally, when answering the questions please consider the following policies as in scope and if possible, refer to them in your answers:

  • Asylum system (including asylum support, the 'move on' period, appeal rights exhausted)
  • Resettlement schemes (including whichever schemes you're particularly interested in, e.g. ARAP, ACRS, UKRS)
  • Immigration and visas (family visas, work visa, student visas, the 5 and 10 year route to settlement, the 'no recourse to public funds' (NRPF) condition, Immigration Health Surcharge)
  • Hostile environment (irregular immigration status, right to work and rent checks, NHS charging)

This questionnaire and the answers you provide will help give a technical and evidence based insight into how UK immigration policies contribute to poverty among migrant communities. The answers you will provide in this questionnaire will be utilised in the following two ways;

Firstly, the answers you give will help inform the inquiry team’s questions at the oral evidence sessions, helping them to ask targeted and specific questions on themes, topics and policies.

Secondly, the evidence gathered through this questionnaire will help inform the final policy recommendations this inquiry will publish, with the purpose of proposing changes to UK immigration policies which will alleviate poverty amongst migrant communities.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email Appgmigration@rampproject.org.

Thank you again for taking the time to complete this questionnaire.
