What are the Greater Manchester Sports Awards?
The event recognises the amazing work taking place in community sport across the County. It is in its 19th year and sees the winners from all of the 10 locality awards attend the Greater Manchester event as finalists in their respective category (changing lifestyle, club of the year, young sports achiever of the year, unsung hero, volunteer of the year, school commitment to PE and sport award, workforce advocate and initiative of the year).
The Greater Manchester Mayor’s Award, presented by Mayor Andy Burnham will award an individual or organisation who is showing outstanding Commitment to Greater Manchester Moving and the plan’s twelve priorities to increase activity across our County. This commitment could be their job or it could be a voluntary role they take on above and beyond their usual day job. The nomination process just requires 200 words on why you think the nominated individual/organisation should be recognised for their commitment to GM Moving.
