NHS Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is your local NHS organisation responsible for health services in Bromley.   The CCG is making some changes to phlebotomy (blood taking) services in Bromley and we want to get your views.

From this autumn (2018), the walk in phlebotomy clinic will be relocating to a nearby site.  This is because we must use this vital hospital space to support improved discharge arrangements and other hospital services.

Instead you will be able to get your bloods taken in community clinics, some GP surgeries, and walk in clinics at Orpington Hospital and Beckenham Beacon. There will not be a reduction in the service.  Outpatients and children under 13 will continue to be seen at the PRUH and housebound patients will continue to have their blood taken where they live.

We are seeking your views to assess what is required from a phlebotomy service so that we can make sure our community based service will meet your needs.   Our aims are to:

·         Free up vital hospital space for more specialist services.

·         Reduce the risk of infections by reducing the number of people going into the hospital

·         Reduce waiting times for blood tests.

·         Provide more options and choice about where you can go for a blood test in Bromley.
