Support after self-harm: how does it work, and what could be better?

In the South West, an above-average number of people end up in hospital or A&E after self-harming.

This survey is about self-harm and about the different types of support available. We will ask you questions about your experiences. We want to find out your story – what happened, how did it make you feel, what was helpful about your support and what was less helpful.

If you are writing to talk about supporting others, then we want to know how this works for you and how the systems in health and social care either help you or create barriers.

If you need support because of the issues discussed in this survey, please contact Samaritans on 116 123 or visit www.samaritans.org

The Care Forum will be the controller of the personal information you share in this survey. We will not share it with others or identify you. We will write a report based on the combined responses received from you and from other people, which will be shared with local NHS and social care planners to improve how our local services work. If you want to find out more, please get in touch with us.
