Dear RES Member,

Sometimes seen to outsiders as the world’s back office, India is a complex, diverse, and often misunderstood country.

Despite employing many people from India, businesses don’t always understand domestic or international work within India itself. In particular, the movement of employees into, out of, and within the country is largely unresearched.

The first in a series of regional RES Forum Research specials, we’re researching mobility and cross-border working in India. Our objective is to understand the issues, challenges, and opportunities within the country. The subsequent report will provide insight for and add value to organisations that operate within India.

Our research features a mix of interviews and case studies, as well as this survey. This includes input from local and international vendors and multinational corporations with offices and operations in India. We’ve already conducted a series of fascinating interviews. This survey is the final piece of a complex puzzle.

It’s important that India’s diversity is reflected in the survey responses. For that reason, we want a broad mix of participants. Each response will help us paint a true and colourful picture of mobility within this wonderful country. Please share this survey with your colleagues based in India.

We’ll share the final paper through the RES Forum and IMF.

I hope you find it useful, insightful, and interesting.

Thank you for your support.

David Enser, The RES Forum
