I would like to take this opportunity to share with you that a multi-agency group has been established to co-ordinate a review of the Tayside Psychiatric Emergency Plan.

The Psychiatric Emergency Plan (PEP) is a document which details the actions to be taken by professionals to meet the needs of individuals who require emergency psychiatric assessment in the community.

Service Users and carers are key stakeholders within this review and it is essential that we are able to learn and be informed by your views.   If you have had any experience of being detained or assessed for detention under the mental health act, or have experience as a family member, friend or carer we would appreciate hearing your views, experiences and opinions.  We are also engaging with carer and user organisations, support networks across Tayside, including statutory, private and third sector agencies as it is important that we have a wide range of views and opportunities to ensure the pathways for individuals in crisis reflect their and their family’s needs at this time.
