Thank you for your interest in becoming a Pause Advisory Group Member!

What is the Pause Advisory Group?
The Pause Advisory Group is a group of Pause graduates from across the United Kingdom, who come together twice a year in London or via Zoom to help Pause’s Board of Trustees, Senior Leadership Team, and other parts of Pause’s national team, make decisions. The type of decisions that the Advisory Group will help Pause make will vary but may include things like what projects Pause should be focusing on, important changes in how Pause works, and Pause’s policies. This is a voluntary role which means that it is not paid, though we will cover your travel and other expenses.

The role
The role of the Pause Advisory Group members is to share their views, ideas and opinions with Pause national team, their Board of Trustees, and their Senior Leadership Team. This is so that Pause can learn more about what it is like to be a woman who has experience of being on the Pause programme when they are making important decisions about Pause. The Advisory Group will help Pause think about what, and how, we do things as an organisation.

Members will be selected by Pause’s national team and will carry out the role for three years. This is so that the Advisory Group is inclusive, and so that new women have an opportunity to join. The first six months of being a member will be a trial period to make sure it is working well for you, and for Pause.

Responsibilities
  • To keep all meetings confidential
  • To attend Advisory Group meetings twice a year, either in person in London or via Zoom

What you will get in return
  • Opportunities to take part in and influence Pause and improve Pause for other women
  • An opportunity to learn more about Pause and about how charities work
  • Training to learn new skills
  • All reasonable expenses paid by Pause (for example: travel and food costs)
