Wrap around care provision

Dear Parents/Carers,

 

As some of you may be aware, we sent out an initial survey last year to gauge interest on the offer of a breakfast and after school club provision at the Birches. This was received positively and although we only had a limited number of responses those received showed that this was could be of huge value to some families. We also realise that the children of some of those who responded have now left and we now have a new intake of parents that may also be interested. We do appreciate that some form of wrap around childcare provision could be invaluable to support some of our families. Whilst we can’t at this stage guarantee the outcome of this survey, we will always endeavour to support parents in any way that we can, and so would appreciate your feedback on this.

After analysing the initial responses, we have a proposed structure of how such a provision might be managed. The set up is based entirely on parental and staff interest so these initial plans are not finalised and details may change in response to the interest that we receive. After receiving your response, we will then have to assess both whether and how this is practically possible to set up.

The purpose of this survey is to gather information for both a potential breakfast and after-school club. However, we aim to focus on the provision of the breakfast club service in the first instance, as logistically this is easier to facilitate, meaning this service could be set up and trialled much quicker. So although we wanted to gather information about both services, first we will consider the breakfast club.

The after-school club service will require further logistical considerations, as any provision will be outside of the contractual hours for our staff. Therefore, this will totally be dependent on the interest we receive from both staff and parents.
