We are currently reviewing our waste storage and management for certain properties to bring them in line with our currently requirements and strategy. We are therefore inviting residents to comment on the 2 proposals listed below regarding bin storage locations relevant to York House.
The first proposal is to repurpose the 2 storage areas at either end of the garage block into storage for recycling and general waste. For this option to work we need to confirm if the current storage is being used by any residents. This will allow us to remove the existing storage area from outside the communal area opening up the approach route to the main entrance. We could also provide an alternative individual storage area to each flat should one still be required.
The second proposal is to build a more solid structure in place of the existing bin store providing a more robust and secure storage area to protect against use by people not living in York House, reduce vandalism and animals/pests from entering. This will potentially reduce natural lighting into the communal area and cause the main approach to feel more enclosed / restricted.
