Salaried GPs working under New Models of Care |
Salaried GPs and new model of care: What are your experiences?
The Five Year Forward View (5YFV) set out several new care models designed to ‘dissolve traditional boundaries’ between general practice, community services, hospitals and social care.
These new models of care are already being tested in vanguard sites and a movement towards more integrated care is well underway in many parts of England.
All these developments have potentially far-reaching implications for the service delivery and for salaried GPs specifically. New models of care can have advantages and disadvantages for salaried GPs employed under these models. The BMA sessional GP subcommittee wants to ensure that GP interests are safeguarded.
For this reason, if you are currently working at a federation, hub, MCP, or super-partnership as a salaried GP we want to hear from you about your contractual arrangements, work experiences, and any benefits you can identify in this new way of working.
Please take the time to fill out the following questionnaire to help us inform our guidance and improve the support available to all salaried GPs employed under new models of care.
