UCL Parents/ Guardians

At least 2,500 UCL students have declared that they had caring responsibilities for a child or children under the age of 18, meaning that there may be a significant demand for additional childcare facilities on campus.

UCL does run a Day Nursery, however this is currently at capacity and operates on a waiting list. We are looking into the feasibility of providing additional resources with childcare of a more ‘sessional’ nature, namely where students can drop off their children for brief irregular periods rather than look for a full-time nursery place, which may be more in line with the demands of juggling student and parental/guardian responsibilities.

In order for us to better understand what students and staff at UCL who are also parents/ guardians may require from such a facility, we'd love to hear from you about your experiences as a parent/guardian at UCL, and what additional childcare services you may be interested in using.

At this stage the project is at an exploratory stage and a big part of what we're doing is making sure that any option we move forward with is viable, and a big part of this is making sure that we have input from as many student parents/ guardians from across UCL as possible.

With this in mind, we'd be grateful if you could fill in the following short survey, which will take between 5 and 10 minutes, in order to pass on your feedback.

All participants who leave their email address on the first page of the survey are eligible for an Amazon Voucher prize (first prize £50, second prize £20).
