HIV Testing in Colposcopy

All those who are eligible for the NHS London Cervical Screening Programme are being invited to share their views about possible additional testing which could form part of the programme in future. The survey is being led by NHS England London, in partnership with the London Fast-Track Cities Initiative and Sexual Health London.

We are asking everyone eligible for the programme for their views about the acceptability of HIV tests being part of the programme’s standard testing when referred for a colposcopy in future.  You may be referred for a colposcopy if some of the cells in your screening sample appear abnormal, which can also be an indicator for HIV.

It is important to diagnose HIV early. Treatment can be lifesaving and with medication now available, you can expect to live a long and healthy life. Treatment also means you can’t pass on HIV to anyone else.

Please take this short questionnaire. Your answers will be kept completely anonymous and will help us deliver NHS services which are effective and responsive to women’s needs.

Thank you for your time.
