Thank you for agreeing to take part in this survey of chemistry and materials related businesses in the North West. It should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.

Through this survey, we aim to assess the AI, digital technology and automation needs of businesses of all sizes in the Mersey Basin region to help build a strong evidence-based business case for new £25m investment made available by the UK Government Strength in Places Fund.

The survey will also help to inform how this potential investment in the industry application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital technology and automation could best be used to support the region’s chemistry and materials industry, facilitating the growth of businesses and generation of high value jobs.

This is your opportunity to help shape how this funding should, if successful, be invested in the North West.

If successful, the bid could result in a major new innovation support initiative to assist the chemicals and materials industry in incorporating advanced digital technologies across the Mersey Basin region, which incorporates Liverpool, Cheshire, Warrington and Greater Manchester.

The bid will be led by the Science and Technology Facilities Council’s Hartree Centre and regional partners, including the University of Liverpool and the Henry Royce Institute.

Please note that all responses will be treated as confidential and the survey analysis will not allow for individual respondents to be identified. The survey is facilitated by STFC collaborative partners, Cambium (UK) LLP (Cambium), and resulting data will be shared between Cambium, STFC, Steer Group and the University of Liverpool.

If you have any questions regarding the survey, please email the survey facilitator John McEachen at johnm@cambiumllp.
