Background

The North Somerset Online Directory NSOD brings together the following requirements on local authorities to establish and maintain information, advice and services for parents, carers, young people and adults from birth to 99 years plus.

-Childcare Act 2006 - Section 12 (providing comprehensive accurate up-to-date information on childcare and other local services for parents of children up to 20 years of age)
-Childcare Act 2015
-SEND Code of Practice - Local Offer 2014 aged 0 - 25
Care Act - (From Care and Support Statutory Guidance 2014 chapter 3. Information and advice p23)
-North Somerset Corporate Plan - Health & Wellbeing, Quality Places, Prosperity and Opportunity

The directory supports the North Somerset Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and the Department of Health - improving outcomes and supporting transparency by providing the following information:

-child poverty
-children looked after
-disability (the directory has a whole section called the Local Offer which is part of the SEND code of practice and is statutory)
-education
-drug and alcohol misue
-older people
-mental health
-housing
-physical activity
-safeguarding/domestic abuse

Through this survey, we are looking to gauge which VCSE organisations use this directory, why some don't use it and if there are any ways in which the directory can be improved.
