Cocoa landscapes toolkit
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. It should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
This survey is intended to collect your views to guide the development of a toolkit to support planning and management of cocoa landscapes for multiple ecosystem services.
At the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), we are committed to being transparent about the use of your personal data. Your data will be stored securely and will not be shared with or sold to third parties. Please read our policy on this on our website to learn more. Should you choose to provide your name and contact details, these will only be used to contact you about the information that you have submitted. Your data will be stored in the project contacts database until the completion of the project in June 2021.
By taking this survey, you acknowledge that your participation is voluntary, and you have the right to withdraw at any time.
As part of the CocoaSoils (https://cocoasoils.org/) project, led by Wageningen University, IITA and IDH, we (UNEP-WCMC) are developing a toolkit to help plan for multiple ecosystem services in cocoa landscapes. The toolkit will support planning at the landscape scale of interventions that seek to improve the productivity and sustainability of cocoa farming, such as through sustainable intensification, agroforestry, climate resilience and adaptation measures, and/or zero deforestation.
The toolkit will be built around a step-by-step workflow, which is described here. The toolkit will support planning for ecosystem services (or “multiple benefits”) from agricultural landscapes, with a focus on cocoa landscapes. It will guide users in making choices among existing tools that can be applied in each of the steps. The toolkit aims to go beyond guidance on tools for assessing the status of ecosystem services, to help users plan to improve the supply of desired ecosystem services.
The toolkit will allow users to select tools for the appropriate spatial scale (e.g. a watershed or farm) and resources available, e.g. using computer-based modelling at larger scales or participatory on-the-ground processes. It will include a range of tools for different audiences.
We are the stage of designing the toolkit and workflow, and we seek your expert advice on its usefulness and possible improvements. If you would be able to assist us in making the toolkit meet your needs, we would be very grateful if you could please complete this 15 minutes survey by 20 December 10 January 2020. Please feel free to distribute more widely to relevant contacts.
