Celebrating Yorkshire's Grassroots Culture

Public Nominations for The Yorkshire Gig Guide Grassroots awards 2017 is now Open.- Thirteen categories; .- Nominate your choice below... Nominations close Sunday April 30th 2017. A Public Vote starting Monday May 1st and ending Monday July 31st 2017 will decide who is in the top five in each category.
A Judging panel, throughout August and September, will then decide the Top Five order in each category and these will then be listed. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at Pocklington Arts Centre on Saturday 7th October.
The evening will include entertainment, food and of course the awards ceremony and presentations; in a celebration of Yorkshires grassroots music.

* 1. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Grassroots Media of 2017 (category includes fanzines/ magazines, radio stations, television stations, print media, Web Media etc)

* 2. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding New Festival of 2017 (category includes Festivals up to five years old)

* 3. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Established Festival of 2017 (category includes Festivals six year and older)

* 4. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Individual of 2017 (category is to celebrate and honour outstanding work done to support/further Yorkshire's grassroots community, music and cultural scene)

* 5. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Small Live Music Venue of 2017 (category includes small live music venues holding up to 100 people)

* 6. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Large Live Music Venue of 2017 (category includes live music venues holding more than 100 people)

* 7. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Promoter of 2017 (category includes individuals or organisations; promoters and event organisers of live grassroots music/ live bands/ music events etc)

* 8. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Music Club of 2017 (category includes any genre of music clubs/groups for example folk, jazz, blues, rock, punk etc- doesn't include Working Men's or social clubs which more properly should come under Live Music Venue)

* 9. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Artist/Band of 2017 (category includes any genre of music, bands, groups, or individual performers)

* 10. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Open Mic of 2017 (category includes any Yorkshire Open Mic )

* 11. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Outstanding Songwriter of 2017 (category includes any Yorkshire Songwriters )

* 12. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's Live sound/recording engineer of 2017 (category includes any Yorkshire Sound Engineer/ Recording studio; celebrating contribution to grassroots live sound and recording)

* 13. Your Nomination for Yorkshire's  Established Band /Organisation /Individual  of 2017 supporting /contributing back to Grassroots communities (category includes any Yorkshire band, organisation or individual who emerged from the grassroots and has become mainstream and established, but who work with and give good support to the grassroots movement and community.)
