Leamington Road Closure Business Feedback - 03 March 2021

The following Covid related road closure has been in place since June 2020 until present:

Parade from Clarendon Avenue to Dormer Place
Warwick Street between Bedford St and Guy St
Regent Street between Bedford St and Park St

This was imposed as a temporary measure, by Warwickshire County Council (WCC) to provide additional space for shoppers. It directly impacts 160 businesses within the 'closed area' as well as buses, waste and delivery access, disabled access, parking, pedestrian and bike access etc.

Access has been maintained for delivery vehicles via the use of traffic marshals roughly between the hours of 7am to 7pm.

This survey aims to ascertain business views at this time and understand if previous views that we have collected have changed or not.

Information will be anonymously compiled and relayed back to WCC. At this time changes are not anticipated, but business and customer feedback is essential.

WCC has stated that the closure is not permanent, but they have not provided details of when it will be removed. Any permanent change would require full business and community consultation carried out by WCC at the time.

N/A - I like the current road closure as it is

Please remove the road closure as soon as possible

Enable through traffic on Regent Street (while the Parade remains closed)

Enable through traffic on Warwick Street (while the Parade remains closed)

Widen the footpath adjacent to hospitality venues, to enable outdoor seating (outside of the closed area)

Close a different area of road to make space or enable dining e.g. Warwick St outside hospitality venues (Covent Garden Quarter)

Reduce the time of the current closure e.g impose it between 10am - 4pm (instead of 7am-7pm)

Reduce the days of the current closure e.g only in the weekends
