We are the Youth Policy Development Group, a team of young people aged 16-25, working directly with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to represent and share the voice of England’s Youth to politicians at the highest levels of government, in order mainstream youth voice across all national decisions.
 
At this crucial stage, if you are aged 12-25 and live in England, we need your help.

The government is going to publish a 10-year Mental Health & Wellbeing Plan, focused on improving mental health and wellbeing particularly for people who experience worse outcomes than the general population.  The Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) have asked for help understanding young people's priorities for improving youth mental health and wellbeing.  

Have your say on the following questions, and we will make sure to share YOUR ideas directly to DHSC government officials in a roundtable discussion on the 6th of June.
 
Glossary of Terms

Mental health — Mental health is a state of wellbeing in which an individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to contribute to their community.

Mental wellbeing — Mental wellbeing is about thoughts, feelings, and how people cope with the ups and downs of everyday life. Having positive wellbeing means that every individual realises their own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, help engage in work productively, and can contribute to their community.

Mental ill-health — Mental ill-health is a negative state of wellbeing.
