There are numerous online resources to help busy health professionals find the information they need to support clinical decisions making, education and CPD. Here are some examples:
ClinicalKey is Elsevier’s collection of the latest medical textbooks, journals and multimedia covering a wide range of medical topics. Its content is also relevant to nursing staff, AHPs and other non-medical health professionals.
UpToDate is a popular resource which is often used at the point of care to support clinical decisions making. It provides comprehensive topic summaries which are updated frequently.
BMJ Best Practice contains topic summaries which can be used as diagnostic and treatment pathways, based on the latest best evidence, for a wide range of conditions.
Royal Marsden Manual online allows access to the full nursing handbook and clinical nursing procedures.
Oxford Handbooks eBooks collection provides access to the full range of Oxford Handbooks along with several textbooks such as Oxford Textbook of Medicine.
Library Online catalogue and APP allows searching of both the Library’s print and electronic book collection with the option to reserve or request a book. The APP allows Library members to view their account and renew any books they have borrowed.
National Databases and e-Journals collection include databases such as Medline, EmCare, Cinahl and searching on here provides links out to full text articles from journals subscribed to both nationally and locally. The e-journals collection can also be browsed here via the A-Z list.
