Planned changes to Walk-In Service and other Urgent Appointments:

We are always trying to get the balance right of offering urgent access when it is needed but still having capacity to offer routine appointments for more routine and long term conditions.

Over the last few months we have been aware of more and more comments from patients about how difficult it can be to get routine GP appointments.

As a result of this we are looking into re-designing our urgent appointment system to free up GP time and improve access for routine appointments.

This will involve running an Urgent Care System where patients will be seen by Nurses or Paramedics who have had extra training to deal with these problems, there will always be a GP available for advice and to see patients with more complex problems.

We would like your feedback on this proposal. Please rate the importance of the following statements, 10 being the most important and 1 being the least important.

I would prefer to see my usual GP and wait longer for an appointment
