Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) is currently developing its Council Strategy for 2019-24, as the current strategy is coming to an end. This will set out the priorities and aims for the organisation for the next five years. As part of the development we would like to know what you think of our draft strategy.

There is a text box under each element for you to provide your comments. The consultation will close on 19 October 2018. All comments will be considered after the close of consultation, after which we will collate the results and feed these into discussions on our future plans.

The draft strategy consists of:
  • A vision for Mole Valley which reflects the potential of Mole Valley as a place
  • Guiding Principles for our organisation over the next five years
  • Core Values for MVDC
  • Three priorities for our organisation. Each priority has a set of bullet points beneath it outlining what MVDC aims to achieve during the life of the strategy
Below you will find a text version of the strategy which outlines the draft content for each of the above mentioned areas. Following consultation and further development, the strategy will be visually re-designed before it goes to Council in February 2019.

Please note, your responses are completely anonymous and you will not be contacted following the submission of this survey. For more information about how MVDC processes your data, please visit www.molevalley.gov.uk/privacy.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

• Putting People First:
Promoting a customer centric culture in our organisation will enable us to provide the best possible user experience and services for our residents, businesses and visitors. To make this happen we will ensure our people, systems and processes work as best they can to serve our customers

• Acting Strategically:
Meeting the needs of the present without compromising future generations requires responsible decision-making and innovation. Promoting community resilience is an important aspect of this principle.

Living within our means: Be mindful of costs and future on-costs in our approach to delivering and developing services to ensure the Council has a sustainable financial base from which to continue to deliver services to residents, businesses and visitors

• Being Open and accessible:
Communicate clear, timely and transparent information that enables residents, businesses and visitors to help themselves, while still providing support for those who require assistance. Listening to and engaging with people is an important part of how we make the right decisions, develop our services, and help them to shape their own communities
