We can all learn from people who are older than us! They have had more lived years of experience and know things about the past that we haven’t had the chance to witness. But just as they can teach us things, we can share our skills and knowledge with them too.

With more and more people feeling lonely and isolated, there has never been a better time to reach out and connect to an older person in your life, showing them that you care. Together we can make sure that everyone feels valued – no matter what their age!

We would like you to draw a picture of an older person in your life – and tell us why they are so special to you.
Five winners will be selected to receive a prize, kindly donated by Derwent Pencil Company. They will also have their portraits made into full size images which will be displayed in Age UK West Cumbria’s store locations. One overall winner will also win a £100 Amazon voucher for their school. The charity has also committed to using all entries within their promotional campaign ‘I AM AGE UK’ to showcase the vibrancy of West Cumbria’s older population.

Every drawing that we receive will be used somewhere in an Age UK West Cumbria campaign – either on our website, on our social media or on a piece of print like a leaflet.

In addition, we will select our favourite 5 portraits to made into life size versions which will be displayed in one of our Age UK West Cumbria shop locations.
A big thanks to Derwent Pencils who have donated prizes.
