Facilities Management Supervisor Trailblazer Apprenticeship

This consultation has been issued to gather feedback from relevant industry stakeholders on the proposed assessment plan to support the Facilities Management Supervisor apprenticeship standard.

This apprenticeship prepares an individual for managing a facilities management service, or a group of services, which can be labelled as ‘hard’ (estate/building management) or soft (catering/cleaning/administration/security). All apprentices will be required to supervise others; to understand the contractual requirements and service delivery targets between their employing organisation and the client/customer in order to achieve service targets. The apprentice will have to provide customer service skills and be proactive in finding solutions to problems.

The approach to assessment for this standard is in two parts with recommended formative assessment for the "on-programme" stage of the apprenticeship and a mandatory end point assessment. The aim of the on-programme assessment is to assess the apprentices through the learning phase of the apprenticeship to provide feedback to them on their progress and demonstrate they have the knowledge prior to be entered for the end point assessments.  The end point assessment is the independent verification that the apprentices have mastered the competencies and behaviours of the standard. The end-point assessment will be graded, enabling employers to differentiate the performance of apprentices.

Before completing the consultation it is strongly recommended that individuals read and familiarise themselves with the Assessment Plan and Assessment Standard attached to the consultation.
