Introduction

Why are we doing this survey?
This survey is part of a wider set of projects aimed at understanding how the English Higher Education (HE) sector is engaging with and developing degree apprenticeships provision – an innovative education model that combines degree or master’s level education with on the job learning.
As part of this, we are working with GuildHE to survey providers of degree apprentices in England.
A parallel survey is also being carried out by the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) to understand how employers of apprentices are engaging with degree apprenticeships development.
If you would like to take part in follow up research conducted by UUK, then please provide your contact details at the end of the survey.

How will  responses be used?
Responses to this survey will be used by UUK, Guild HE and HEFCE to produce a report outlining how the sector is responding to degree apprenticeships development. UUK will also use responses to lobby on behalf of higher education institutions and raise the profile of degree apprenticeships. Analysis of survey responses will not disclose information about individual providers or employers or their individual plans for degree apprenticeships. We will use the responses to analyse activity at various levels, for example, by groups of different types of HE providers and groups of HE providers in a particular region or area of the country.

Who should complete the survey?
The survey asks for information about your institution’s view on degree apprenticeships. Questions require detailed information about your institution’s position on degree apprenticeships, whether you are implementing them, considering their implementation or not. The respondent should therefore have a good knowledge of how their whole organisation is responding to degree apprenticeships.

How long will the survey take?
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete, depending on the level of degree apprenticeships-related activity at your organisation.

About Degree Apprenticeships
