The Lensbury Spring Handicap Tournament 2020 Information
This knock-out tournament for Lensbury Tennis Club Members is played from January to March. All finals will be played on SUNDAY 29th March from 12:30pm.
In order to give everyone a “fair crack of the whip” all players will be allocated a handicap with the strongest players usually starting each game on minus points. Your handicap will appear on the fixtures list.
It will be each player’s responsibility to arrange their matches by the “play by dates”. Each match will consist of one ‘Pro’ Set to 10 games. You must win by 2 clear games.
Enter TODAY or at the latest by Sunday 12th January (online entry only).

Guidance Notes
PLAY BY DATES:
The play by dates for each round will be strictly enforced. The winner of any match not played by the due date will be determined by the toss of a coin – the Referee’s!
CHOICE OF COURT SURFACE:
The player who makes initial contact to arrange a match will have choice of court surface. The finals will be played on clay.
BALLS:
The player who did not make the initial contact must provide 4 new or once used balls for the match.
MATCHES:
All matches (including finals) will consist of one ‘Pro’ Set to 10 games. You must win by 2 clear games.
Fair Play:
Please remember you officiate all of your own matches and it is expected that you play with respect and honesty.
Results:
Winners please email your result to tennis.manager@lensbury.com. Please then contact your next opponent immediately.
FINALS DATES:
Finals will be played on Sunday 29th March from 12.30
Potential Schedule:
12:30 – Singles
13:45 – Mixed
15:00 – Doubles
(Please note this is very likely to change but gives you an idea of last year’s schedule)
ANYONE NOT ABLE TO PLAY ON THIS DATE, SHOULD NOT PROCEED BEYOND THE QUARTER FINAL STAGE OF ANY EVENT
