Be part of the 4th Annual Cycle City Active City Event, Leicester, 19 - 20th May 2016

Cycle City Active City connects the pioneering transport, urban, place-making and public health professionals who are finding new ways of working together to improve activity and wellbeing impacts.

Following our successful Cycle City events in Birmingham, Leeds  and Newcastle; in 2016 we are thrilled to be bringing Cycle City Active City to Leicester.

Leicester has been recently reviewed by The Guardian as an “unlikely poster boy of cycling”, and this event will include site visit opportunities to see the results of the Connecting Leicester Programme which has transformed Leicester into one of the most walking and cycling friendly cities in the UK.

This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, not only will Cycle City Active City be held in Leicester, we are very excited to also announce that for the 2016 event we will be teaming up with TABS ‘The Association of Bikeability Schemes’ to co-host the national cycle training conference in Leicester.  We will also be working with Wheels for All to host their national conference on inclusive cycling and The European Cycle Logistics Federation on a UK event.

Added to these practitioner events will be the 10th Annual Leicester Children's Cycling Day with over 500 children cycling to the venue on the Friday.

We are calling for papers to present to the 700+ anticipated delegates about best practice from across the UK, Ireland and the world.

We request papers from academics, consultants, local authority officers and councillors, developers, LEPs, workplaces, suppliers to the sector and campaigners on any of the following themes for Cycle Active City Leicester.
