Please help us improve the experience of
Essential workers, working in County Durham or Darlington during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Due to working during the pandemic, essential workers may come across difficult situations. In particular, people may be upset or troubled by actions they feel are wrong or against good practice.
These actions can be things you, or others, have done (or failed to do) and can lead to negative thoughts about yourself or others (e.g. “I am a terrible person” or “They don’t care about people’s lives”) as well as intense feelings of shame, guilt, or disgust.
Examples could include:
· Feeling betrayed by unfair demands, rules or judgements (at work or outside of work), behaviour of others, or lack of information, resources, PPE etc to work effectively during the pandemic
· Distress at obeying/enforcing rules that go against usual good practice or acting when guidance isn’t clear
· Guilt at being unable to work, potentially infecting others or feeling responsible for a death or other harm due to lack of knowledge, fatigue or choices made with scarce resources
This is a new area and these are just a few possible examples which is why we want to hear about your experiences during the pandemic and what does, or could, help in the future.
The survey can be completed in under 10 minutes and anonymous responses to the survey will be used help us take action to improve the experience of essential workers. All questions are optional and any information you provide will be held securely and confidentially. Any personal information will be deleted after a maximum of a year. You can complete the survey even if you are not certain you are an essential worker (definition
here) or if you were unable to work for part/all of the pandemic
Thank you
