The NHLI Engage Award recognises excellence in public engagement with science. The award is judged against the following criteria:

- The number and variety of public engagement activities the nominee was involved in

- The range of different audiences they engaged with

- Self motivation and how much nominees took the initiative to develop projects themselves or encourage others to get involved

- Collaborations and partnerships to enable high quality public engagement and increased impacts

The NHLI Engage Award is open to master's and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, research fellows and new lecturers (within three years of appointment).
