The public on-line consultation on DDC’s new Local Plan lasted from 20th Jan 2021 to 17th March 2021; it included sections on climate change; new homes & building development;  employment& local economy; transport and infrastructure;  natural environment.  Some local groups say it lacked links between these sections.  

If you saw the DDC new Local Plan for new building development, what is your opinion of it?

* 8. Generation Rent. Around 5000 families on low incomes in Dover District are living in rented homes (private / social rented) with high rents and high heating costs; sometimes damp and badly insulated. Central government funding to fully refit and insulate these homes is a hotchpotch of short-term schemes. DDC officers have a great record applying for and implementing these smaller-scale grants. BUT all local authorities can take up cheap, long-term loans to create jobs and make homes low-cost and cheap-to-heat; they can oblige private landlords to upgrade accommodation to Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) A standard.
