Evaluation Information Sheet

Mums and Babies in Mind is a Maternal Mental Health Alliance project, hosted by the Mental Health Foundation and funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

Who are the evaluation team?
This evaluation is led by Una Foye in the evaluation team at the Mental Health Foundation. To know more about the evaluation or the team you can email Una on ufoye@mentalhealth.org.uk or call 020 7803 1177.

What is the purpose of this evaluation?
We want to find out what you think about the mapping tool, whether it has been helpful and the impact that this tool has had in practice. The information you provide can help us to evaluate the effectiveness of this approach and improve future work.

Do I have to take part?
It is up to you if you want to take part or not. If you decide to take part, you are free to change your mind at any time without giving a reason. If you do change your mind, we will erase/ destroy any information that you have given us, but your involvement in the MABiM project and use of the mapping tool will not be affected.

Are there any disadvantages of taking part?
There are no serious risks associated with taking part in the evaluation.

Will my taking part be confidential?
All questionnaire answers will only be seen by the evaluation team. That means they will not be shown to anyone without your agreement. Your name will not appear anywhere in the evaluation. Only the research team will know who took part or what you said because we remove any information that identifies you personally. Your questionnaire answers will be entered onto a computer database without your name. We will then analyse that database by looking at everyone’s answers. All questionnaires are stored in locked cupboards and on secure computer files.
There is an exception to this confidentiality: if at any point in the evaluation you disclose information that the researcher believes endangers you or others, we would have to tell the police, and other relevant authorities.

Where will the information go?
At the end of the project, the final evaluation findings will be written up as a report. The report will include quotes but these will always be anonymous and no one will be named. If you would like a copy of this report please ask a member of the evaluation team.
