Question Title

* 1. Colleagues from a different department have been doing some research to inform a project that you are working on. The colleagues deliver their findings to you with a presentation. However, they have not covered all the information you requested, despite you checking their understanding at the outset. There is detail missing and they seem to have misunderstood some of your requirements. What do you do?

Ask if there is any supporting information that contains more detail. If the detail is still lacking, ask for a meeting with the group. Check if they understood your expectations. Ask if they can provide the additional information. Together, look at lessons-learnt to avoid it happening again.

Take the issue to the manager of the team. Provide feedback about the situation explaining what information is missing. Ask if they can speak to their team to get them to work on this additional information and agree a timeframe in which they will deliver it.

At the end of the presentation, ask about the areas they have not covered and for clarification on the area they seem to have misunderstood. If they cannot provide the information, apologise if the expectations were not made clear. Clarify what you need and ask if they can provide it.
