Relating to the new Control of Poisons and Explosives Precursors Regulation - October 2023
Dear Customer,
The British regulation regarding the control of explosives precursors and poisons will enter into force on 1st October 2023. These regulations extend to England, Wales and Scotland and will become part of the Poisons Act 1972. This regulation requires you to complete a customer statement every 18 months to verify the legitimacy of the business which is purchasing any regulated poisons and/or explosives precursors. Regulated products contain:
- more than 10% hydrochloric acid
You are requested to complete and sign the customer statement as soon as possible. All information is mandatory. Please also provide a scan of your photographic identification. This can include a passport, driving licence or business ID card. Comax will keep it for 18 months in agreement with GDPR conditions. Please be aware that Comax will not be allowed to sell your business any affected products if the statement is not completed. This means orders for affected products will be blocked until a completed customer statement is received.
The completion of this statement confirms that you understand any regulated substances must be used for legitimate business use only. You also confirm that you will report any suspicious transactions, significant disappearances or thefts of regulated and reportable substances. Reportable products contain:
- Sodium hypochlorite solutions above 6% available chlorine
- more than 12% Sodium hydroxide
