Bouncing back from the pandemic

Independent hospitality has arguably been the hardest hit across our sector, including independent restaurants, street food/mobile caterers, wedding & function caterers, independent cafes, restaurants and bars. With half of our the sector reliant on outdoor events such as festivals and everyone working to reduce capacities, many have not worked profitably since Autumn 2019.

Even now, with the roadmaps for England and Scotland having been published, a lack of clarity and confidence about reopening fully in time for the summer season is causing major concern for businesses across the supply chain. For months and months we have been left out of government grants and other financial support measures gifted to so many other sectors. We want to contribute and we want to thrive again, but to do so we will need the help of government; help to trade and enough working capital to get us to the starting line.

Twelve months on from the Covid-19 temporary Budget announcement, our sector is still repeatedly being left out in the cold. We pledge to continue the fight for the independent hospitality sector and your livelihoods; to demonstrate to government that with the right financial support, the independent food & drink sector can not only survive but flourish. We need you to help us collect the data, responses and evidence required to get our voices heard and together, we are positive we can succeed.

Please, sign our survey telling us what your business needs in order to survive the pandemic, support our sector and let's work together to get the key asks that our industry needs in order to move forward and prosper.
