B.  Fundraising Priorities

Context:
The Club has two fundraising goals for 2019-2023:

Our main priority is to secure the future of the Club for the long-term through further unrestricted income and capital donations:
  • annual donations from alumni so that the Club’s operations can reasonably be expected to trade at better than break-even without requiring support from the VATC Capital base.
  • unrestricted capital donations so that by 2023 the Club is in a stronger financial position and has flexibility in how best to apply these funds, for example in order to secure premises in central Oxford for the long-term.
Our second priority is to raise restricted capital for the Sports Development Fund in order to fund 2 new Vincent's Awards.
  • These are to be named after Sir Roger Bannister and be of similar monetary value to the university's major academic awards (i.e. typical value £10,000 per annum).
  • These will be the most prestigious of the Vincent's Awards and the goal is to attract exceptionally talented sportspeople to pursue both their elite sporting goals and academic studies at Oxford rather than other universities.
