Have Your Say.

Background: The GP Surgery in Gravir is attached to the Doctor’s House, which has been on the open market for a number of years. The surgery has issues with disabled access and car parking, and the Doctor’s House is deteriorating. The NHS have stated that they do not have the capital funds necessary to upgrade the current surgery. The surgery could remain where it is for the time being. There are options to upgrade the current premises, or the surgery could be relocated elsewhere in the district. We held an open meeting on 23rd March and a number of suggestions were made. We have included these suggestions below and would appreciate your feedback.

Question Title

* 1. Option 1: On a scale of 1 - 6 how much would you like to leave the GP surgery as it is.

The NHS will only consider relocating if there is a suitable property available for rent and they no longer own the current GP Surgery/Doctor’s House.

* 2. Option 2: On a scale of 1-6 how much would you like to improve the current facilities

It has been suggested that improvements could be made to the current premises.

Question Title

* 3. Option 3: Relocate the surgery elsewhere in Gravir

·        The Tigh Ceilidh is currently owned by the Community Council
·        Pairc Trust are in the process of purchasing the Care Unit
·        The Community Workshop is currently owned by the Council.

If the surgery was to relocate to one of these buildings, it would need to be renovated, and additional parking would be required. What are your thoughts on these suggestions?

Question Title

* 4. Option 4: Relocate the Surgery to another premises elsewhere in South Lochs.

The Resource Centre, Kershader is one suggestion for the surgery. Pairc Trust could purchase this property and provide a base for the current users in addition to the surgery. Additional car parking would be addressed and we would ensure this would not endanger the children attending the playgroup.

* 5. Option 5: Build new premises
