BACKGROUND

The subject of menstruation has been a hot topic in the press of late, and whilst researching the taboos and issues we encountered insight and research that we had not previously considered - that menstruation can be distressing for trans and intersex people who do not identify as female.

This has inspired an idea for a campaign which aims to improve inclusion of the needs of trans and intersex people in the sanitary product market, and we are hoping to develop our understanding of this.

THE IDEA

The current sanitary product industry is exclusively aimed at cisgender women, from the packaging of sanitary products right through to the way they are marketed and sold at retail.

We are currently developing a campaign which aims to bring about a change in this industry, by encouraging a leading sanitary product brand to adopt a more inclusive approach to the way they package, market and sell their products.

WHERE WE WOULD VALUE YOUR INPUT

Our aim is to build a body of personal contributions and testimonials from transgender and intersex people to enhance the insight we have already uncovered.

We would very much value any feedback and input from trans people and intersex people as part of our research gathering process.
